CEI has available technical assistance manuals to assist start-ups and help create jobs. They are aimed at local entrepreneurs and contain information needed to start a small business with as few as 1 to 10 employees. These manuals provide entrepreneurs with the tools necessary to establish new, local, small-scale enterprises. These new enterprises will provide employment for many people, including those in agriculture, food processing, and manufacture of household goods and construction materials. These manuals can be of significant help to people who wish to start small businesses but do not have a business plan or knowledge on how to start. The manuals will strengthen local micro-loan institutions by assuring them that borrowers have viable plans to establish new enterprises and have the necessary technical assistance for their successful operation. These manuals contain a business plan, plant layout diagrams, equipment requirements, bills of material, manpower requirements, financial statements, and other information necessary for a start-up enterprise. Organizations interested in these manuals should contact CEI. The manuals were originally developed in the 1950s as part of the Marshall Plan’s Technical Assistance Program and have been extensively reworked by CEI to current industry standards. Most can be scaled up or down as local conditions and available finances dictate. The following is an example of a typical table of contents. Click here for a list of manuals. |
