Cincinnati’s CEI Featured in Award-Winning Documentary
A CINE Golden Eagle Award has gone to a documentary featuring Cincinnati’s Center for Economic Initiatives and one of its vice presidents, James Silberman.
Silberman initiated and ran the study tour portion of the post-World War II Marshall Plan, which brought Western Europe’s industry leaders to the United States to get ideas on how to jump start their devastated economies. Some 25,000 Europeans participated in his study tours, resulting in a quick closing of the technology gap.
Now in his 90s, Silberman works with the Center for Economic Initiatives on a modern version of study tours, usually for industry leaders from Eastern Europe.
The award-winning documentary – “INSPIRING SUCCESS: Rediscovering the Marshall Plan Productivity Program” – shows how Marshall Plan-type study tours can help developing economies today, around the globe. One of three examples is CEI’s construction study tour from Ukraine. It won in CINE’s Motivational category.
CINE fosters excellence in film and video informational productions for business, education and government. “Inspiring Success” was co-produced by Ed Robbins & Associates and the Educational Development Center
